Three SriLankan Airlines planes have been grounded after arriving at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with technical issues. This has led to several flight cancellations and delays.
An airline spokesperson explained that after each flight, the planes go through a thorough technical check, which can take time, especially when maintenance is needed. The three affected planes are now undergoing necessary repairs.
As a result, several flights have been canceled, including flight UL-123 to Chennai and flight UL-124 from Chennai, as well as flights UL-196 from New Delhi and the flight from Melbourne, both expected to arrive later tonight.
SriLankan Airlines has already contacted affected passengers and is working to get them on alternative flights as soon as possible.
