A search is back on for an 11-year-old boy who was swept into the ocean on the NSW Central Coast yesterday. It all happened when a father and his four sons were trying to cross The Entrance Channel around 5:15 PM and ran into some trouble.
Fortunately, two bystanders managed to rescue three of the boys—ages three, seven, and eleven. However, the eldest boy was pulled into the ocean by the strong current, and his father, 43, tried to reach him but lost sight of him in the water.
Police quickly launched a thorough search operation, involving land, air, and sea efforts, with help from Surf Life Saving members. Two rescue helicopters were also called in to assist, but the search had to be suspended as darkness fell.
